Mirus by Federal Pacific Performance Transformers

Mirus, a specialized division of Federal Pacific, designs the ULLTRA Ultra Low Loss Transformer to deliver the highest efficiency available under both linear and non-linear loading conditions. Unlike standard energy-efficient transformers that meet efficiency requirements only at 35% load under linear conditions, the ULLTRA maintains superior efficiency across the entire load range and under real-world non-linear loading, making it ideally suited for both light and heavy loading applications.

Available from 15 kVA to 750 kVA with secondary voltages of 208V, 480V, and 600V, the ULLTRA series is UL and cUL Listed and validated through linear and non-linear load testing in the Mirus Harmonics and Energy Lab.

Technical Overview

⸻ OVERVIEW ⸻

The ULLTRA is engineered to reduce losses, minimize harmonic impact, and maintain high efficiency at any load profile.

⸻ Applications ⸻

Typical Applications

The ULLTRA is specified for facilities and applications requiring high transformer efficiency under variable and non-linear loading conditions, where energy savings and reduced lifecycle costs are priorities.

⸻ CONFIGURATIONS ⸻

ULLTRA H1E

For applications where non-linear loading is expected to be severe, the ULLTRA H1E combines the proven harmonic mitigating properties of the Mirus Harmony HMT line with the superior energy efficiency of the ULLTRA design.

⸻ Performance ⸻

Engineered for Performance

Mirus engineers the ULLTRA transformer with a focus on real-world efficiency rather than test-condition compliance. By maintaining high efficiency across the entire load range and under non-linear loading conditions, the ULLTRA reduces energy losses, lowers life cycle costs, and contributes to LEED Energy and Atmosphere and Innovation and Design categories.

The ULLTRA also supports right-sizing. Because the transformer maintains high efficiency under heavy and non-linear loading, it can be sized to operate at higher load levels without sacrificing energy performance, reducing both initial and operating costs. Performance is validated through linear and non-linear load testing in the Mirus Harmonics and Energy Lab.
